My name is Kelsey Jones-Casey, and I'm the principal consultant behind Weave Collaborative

I launched Weave (formerly Isthmus & Strait) in 2013 to help organizations sharpen their interventions for greater impact through participatory research, deep evaluation and learning, and collaborative design. I guide clients in exploring and understanding the contexts in which they work, and through this process help them design solutions that make measurable differences in the lives of people and the places where they live. As a consultant, evaluator, and social researcher, I am known for my deep collaboration, participatory and justice-centered approaches, analytical abilities, and unflappable commitment to my work.

My portfolio is focused on social and environmental justice: mitigating climate change and pushing for climate-just solutions; ensuring that all people have secure rights to the land and resources they depend on, and livelihoods that are resilient to climatic and social change; and transforming institutions to be more equitable. Through my research and consultation, I've investigated the emotional impacts of climate change on people who live close to the land through a Fulbright Fellowship in northern Ontario, documented women's customary and formal rights to land for INGOs in Rwanda and Cote d'Ivoire, and supported communities in measuring their households' progress towards gender equity in agriculture in Ghana and Mali. At its heart, my work is about people, place, and justice.

I have worked for a number of non-profit and for-profit organizations, including CARE, Social Impact, ASI International, ActionAid International, Landesa, Chemonics International, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and the International Land Coalition (ILC). You may read what my clients' accolades here, and explore descriptions of my projects at this link.

I hold an MPA in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance (2009), and a BA in International Relations from Wheaton College (2005). I have experience working in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Bangladesh, Malawi, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Rwanda, Burundi, Nigeria, Mali, Haiti and in the Lake Superior Basin of Canada.
